Public and private payers are moving away from fee-for-service (FFS) payments to alternative payment and care delivery models that promote the triple aim. Although the evidence base for successful alternative payment models (APMs) is still emerging, Massachusetts' Primary Care Payment Reform initiative was foundational and provided many lessons in the design and implementation of newer APMs. (UAN 0850-9999-17-007-L04-P)
