Physician burnout has reached epidemic proportions in healthcare, presenting a significant impediment to the achievement of the Triple Aim of better patient care and better population health at a lower cost. This session will focus on the '4th Aim' of healthcare — the importance of caring for the caregivers, and how the lessons of addressing this in the Carillon Clinic health system (as featured in US News and World Report) are applicable to both health systems and individual practices.

Learning Objectives

• Explain the importance of the national data regarding physician burnout and what that means for organizations and individuals
• Discuss the power of “local data” for advancing clinician well-being
• Describe a developmental model for approaching clinician burnout from an organizational perspective
• Establish a framework and a plan for addressing clinician burnout and advancing toward thriving both individually and organizationally
