Measuring Primary Care Mental Health Implementation: Procedures, Processes, and Metrics
The goal of this session is to provide outcome and process metrics to support new NCQA Behavioral Health Distinction within the PCMH program. While the components of Integration, Assessment and Care, and Quality Measurement are specified, methods and metrics to measure these dimensions need identification and refinement. This presentation will discuss both a validated measure of level of behavioral health integration used in over 800 primary care practices, and present the results of an expert panel that identified both outcome and process metrics for behavioral health integration, and a methodology for collecting necessary data. (UAN 0850-9999-17-005-L04-P)

 Learning Objectives
  • Learners will identify the need, content and method of collecting a measure of degree of primary care integration.
  • Learners will review the development and content of integration  outcomes and process metrics developed by an national expert panel.
  • Learners will develop a working use of the methodology for collecting the data and constructing the metrics necessary to be used to support NCQA Behavioral Health Distinction.
